DD and I are doing AGPNY this weekend. We live just outside of the city, and this is our second trip in a year. Not bragging, just giving detail. :-) We're going with my SIL and her DD, both kids are 5. They live in Massachussetts, so this is their first trip, and probably won't be making one for a while.
My DD will probably be getting a new doll this trip. That's because my SIL's DD will probably be getting a doll. We've talked about getting them their birthday presents 2 months early, so they can share them together. My DD has AGOT 21, and SIL's DD has Samantha (because that is her name), and Bitty and the Bitty twins. I told DD she cannot get another AGOT, but she can get one of the historicals or Marisol. She seems to want Marisol, but her best friend has Nellie, so she could also pick Nellie. I'd love for her to not get Nellie, becuase I think SIL DD will be getting her to go with Samantha, and I'd love to see them with different collections, so they can have their special AG things. OTOH, DD might end up with Felicity, because we are reading the new Elizabeth book, and here is the question. Is now the time to buy Felicity, before the relaunch? Will I regret not getting her in her new dress with her new stuff, whatever that might be? I assume you could probably buy the new dress separately, once she is rereleased, but I don't know. I would love to get opinions about whether now is a good time to get Felicity or to wait. Because I would love to get her Elizabeth, because that's DD's middle name.

If it were me, I'd go ahead and get her Felicity now, while she's still in the rose garden meet dress. Later on, when the movie comes out, Felicity will probably be in demand, and may be back-ordered.
You can always get the lilac travel dress later, if your DD wants it, maybe for Christmas.

I think you should buy her Felicity now. I know that your daughter will love her. Like someone else siad you can always buy her the new meet outfit when it comes out. When Elizabeth comes out maybe you can get her Elizabeth for Christmas. Whatever the decision I know she will love any doll she gets.
If you like Felicity's Rose Garden dress better than her Traveling Gown I suggest you get Felicity while you are there this weekend.

PS - Of course, DD got the catalog today and really wants Kaya! I'm all for it, because *she* wants it, not because her friend has the same one. That's the way a true American Girl thinks!
I would go with the old outfit...the "older" outfits are never a mistake it seems with these dolls. I really do like the rose garden outfit too! I agree, the colors are a little drab, but with the red haired Felicity, it was a nice combination!
Kaya is also neat...but hair is a bit much out of the braids though. You might want to tell your daughter that Felicity's hair is really fun to style, & it is! :-)
